  Description:
    Abstract:
      County Boundaries were extracted from the 1992 TIGER line
      files produced by the US Bureau of Census. The National
      Climactic Data Center produced a Climate Division Map for
      the State of Nebraska in image format. Using the County
      Boundary coverage and the Climate Division Map, a new
      Cimate Division coverage was created.
    Purpose:
      A Nebraska Climate Division coverage was created using the
      already existing Nebraska County coverage and the NOAA/NCDC
      Climate Division map.
    Supplemental_Information:
      The Nebraska County Coverage used to create this coverage
      had been re-projected to Stateplane, NAD83 for use in the
      Platte River Cooperative Hydrology Study.

      Process_Description:
        Using the Climate Divisions map, counties in each division
        were selected and given a division number in the Nebraska
        County map attribute table. Counties boundaries with the
        same division number were then dissolved using the
        geoprocessing extension in ArcView to form seamless climate divisions.
