Description:
Abstract:
PRISM data is an analytical model that uses point data and
a digital elevation model (DEM) to generate gridded
estimates of annual, monthly and event-based climatic
paramaters. The PRISM grid data was downloaded,
re-projected and converted to inches per year. The data was
vectorized and and clipped to the COHYST area.
Purpose:
Display and/or analysis requiring spatially distributed
annual precipitation in inches/year for the COHYST area
during the years 1961-1990.
Supplemental_Information:
The original PRISM grid data was downloaded and manipulated
in ARCINFO using asciigrid. It was then projected twice to
get it into the projection and datum of the COHYST project
(Stateplane, NAD83) using the PROJECT command. Units were
converted to inches/year by dividing by 2540. Latticeclip
was used to clip the area to the COHYST area with a buffer
of 50,000 feet. Latticecontour was used to make the vector coverage.
